Default Los Angeles Dock

Hello everyone!

I know some of you have already heard that Southern California is going to actually have a dock that everyone can come out and use. Well I am the person that finally decided to make this happen. I am not going to say exactly where the place is just yet for a few reasons but it is close to the 55 and 91 freeways. Some of you may already have figured out exactly where it is and I ask you to please be descrete till I announce the dock opening.
The dock location will be a pond about 150ft x 300ft, right now we are draining the pond and digging out one end to a depth of about 5 1/2 feet. We are also going to clean the pond and desilt it at this time. Because of the location we cannot put in a permenant dock. However I am building a dock 40ftx8ft that I can put in place almost every weekend. The site is used for other things some weekends. The agreement I made with the property owners means I cannot exclude any clubs or organizations that want to use the dock for dock diving. I am going to be exactly fair with all clubs and organizations and am going to encourage anyone that is not in a club to join one. The location is one where you and your dog can be as loud as you want.
I am hoping to get the dock open by February but this might be a bit optomistic. I will charge a fee for the use of the dock so I can pay for the cost and pay for maintaining it and setting it up and taking it down.
Hope to see everyone out at Bass Pro Shops in Rancho Cucamonga.

Default That Makes The Icing on the Cake!!!!!

Congratulations Southern California Splash Dog Family!

This FANTASTIC news of the our southern group having a home base just like No Cal almost makes me tear up!

I don't believe I have met any of you yet,.....except for one of my favorite little girls who jumps for the yellow duck! (miss u Shari) however, I feel as if both parts of California are going to have unforgettable memories and great fun in joining 2010!

We support sharing the experience and making all of us from Redding to Salinas out to Sacramento right to the the beautiful beaches of So. Cal....... and but of course, all our favorites in Nevada can count on a GREAT YEAR!

Thank you for making this decision, feel free to contact me anytime.

Enjoy enjoy enjoy!!!!!!!!
Sincerely,
Gianna & Ms. TallaDega

Ahhhhhh I MISS YOU TOO...... (kiss, kiss) This is exciting news. I googled the 55 and 91 freeways and it is about an hour from me so definitely doable for a Saturday or Sunday playday. Nevada no likey ponds cause she can't see down to the bottom but this will be good practice for her to trust the non-clear waters. With it 5 1/2 feet she won't have any worries of diving in and getting a mouthful of mud. I am soooooooo curious as to who Mr or is it Miss Los Angeles Dock is but I suppose we will all know soon. All I can say is whoever you are THANK YOU :-)

The rain we are getting right now is slowing things down right now. It is very hard to dry out a pond when it is pouring down rain. We are expected to have 8-20" of rain this week!!!! The average annual total for LA is about 14 inches so this is alot for here.

OK today we dug a drainage ditch to drain out the pond, we are going to add a water gate so we can control the level of the water in the pond and will put the pipe for this in the ditch after we get the pond dry. We expect it will be about two weeks to get the pond completely dry. Alot of work is going to be done to clean the pond and keep it cleaner.
I will check on it tomorrow and see if it is drained by then.

So Cal Will Have a Dock!
