What a fantastic weekend! PB all over the place, a rockin' Finals, great banquet and lots of hard work put on by many people! I got to play in Vegas, love on my dogs for every single jump and spend a weekend with a great group of friends! A HUGE THANK YOU goes to ALL the people that saved items, crates and most of all canopies from taking a hit! There were many of you that did this and I for one appreciate it! All in all we love Vegas and I am sure will be back next year, maybe even with another Doberman! Thanks Again!!

We second that! There were so many talented dogs and people out there this weekend. It was really great to meet new folks and see so many oustanding dogs. Thanks to everyone who made it great and to all those special people who saved the canopies after the tornado! You guys are awesome!

Team Noodle Nuts finally made it home today but unfortunately on the back of a tow truck. By the time we got pools loaded up at 11:00 on Monday morning we headed home. We got into Reno around 8:30 pm and were beat. We left Reno this morning and stopped in Susanville for fuel. Went to start the truck and it wouldn't start. Called AAA and they towed us the rest of the way home. Not a good way to finish a great trip.
Got to say big thanks to Tony Reed for creating Splash Dogs. It is so great to get together with old friends and the chance to make new friends: Vit and family, Candis, Mike and Nicole, Mark and Janelle and many more. There were a few sour moments but the event was great and went pretty smooth. Ursula you did a great job on keeping things going. You and the girls also rocked on the dock. So many new PBs, a marathon 3 hour and 20 minute SV finals, and all the other finals were unbelievable. The real excitement of the weekend was the wind storm. For those who didn't hear about it, Sat. night after the awards dinner my wife and I were just pulling back into the Bass Pro parking lot just in time to see canopies blowing every which way. I think a thunder storm cell moved through the area with extreme winds. My wife and I plus a small contingency of CA doggers were running frantically for app. 20 minutes trying to grab canopies and get the roofs off of them to keep them from blowing away. At one point I thought the wind was going to blow my wife into the air as she had hold of Urs canopy. Most canopies were weighted but that didn't matter. Two of the canopies almost ended up of I-15 but luckily a fence stopped them. It was quite exciting and turned out with 3 canopies trashed. It could have been much worse. Thanks again to everyone. On another note, on Friday Shari Robinson came off the dock in tears after jumping her dog Nevada. I think that everyone thought it was because Nevada had made a great jump. The truth was that Shari's father had passed away a few days prior. I went over to her to console her and she told me that she was there because of her dad. With tears welling in my eyes she went on to tell me that her father would want her to be there. She said that her father loved Nevada and that he would want her to be there jumping. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Shari and what courage it took to be there jumping Nevada.

Oh Shari I am so sorry to hear about your Dad, having just lost my Mother, I know what a difficult time this is. Know that you are loved and your sadness can be comforted by the many happy memories you must have. I know mine is.
Hugs

I posted this on facebook but I will post it again here for those not on facebook. I buried my Dad yesterday on ironically Veterans Day November 11, 2010. The navel military graveside ceremony was truly beautiful with blue sky’s and a warm sun. He was buried alongside my Mom whom I lost 18 years ago and as my brother and I stood at the edge of the grave we could see our Mom’s casket casing which was really strange to see. Two beautiful butterflies floated around during the services. My Mom collected butterflies so it gave us an eerie comfort that they were right there with us. I learned of Dad’s sudden passing last Friday while I was in LV at the Splashdogs Nationals however opted to stay and compete with Nevada. It was incredibly hard to be there and try to enjoy the event but I know that it is what my Dad would have wanted. He loved Nevada and would not have wanted her to miss out on all her fun. I could never have made it though the weekend without all the love and support from my Splashdogs family. I can’t possibly name each and every one of you as there are just too many to thank. You guys are amazing, THANK YOU all so much for being in my life and taking care of me. A special THANKS must go to my BFF who housed me and fed me. Ashley, I love you so much and cherish our friendship. Thank you Mickey for being there for me. I appreciate all your love and support this past week. I pray now my Dad is with my Mom again. I love and miss you both so much however know that you will watch over me. RIP until we see each other again. I am still not all there and the grief comes and goes but I am hanging in there as best I can. THANK YOU , THANK YOU , THANK YOU again to EVERYBODY.
