Default Splash Dogs phasing out the SV?

It seems like there are no events which include the Super Vertical competition in the western US for the rest of the year. This includes the Sonoma County Fair where Pyro set the world record last year. We are extremely disappointed in this development since we have spent countless hours practicing for the SV.

If you are in favor of including the Super Vertical in Splash Dogs events, please reply to this post.

As Always Eric... , we are completely 100% in favor of SV( brought 6 SV dogs to Hollister and 5 to Reno) however, the pole has to be correct or close to it as the poles inconsistency at events is almost worse then having no event at all. I will not continue to setup my dog for failure just to earn a ribbon.

I agree with Candis. It's not fair for the dogs if they are being set at heights that aren't possible to catch. Their confidence goes down and worst, it's not safe. We won't be jumping unless it gets fixed as well, because it's just not worth it to risk possible injury for a ribbon and placing. I was SUPER disappointed to see that we wouldn't be jumping at Santa Rosa (it has a special place in our hearts).

I just talked to Tony and just because it's not listed on the registration it doesn't mean that we are not doing SV. It will be a case by case to determine if we have the time. So please be patient.

When will we know if an event will have SV and what steps are being made to correct the problems with the pole? I do appreciate all the hard work that goes into SV but for some of us this is the high light or the straight out reason we attend events. Page has recently been jumping better then ever and was really looking forward to competing in SV especially at events with warmer weather. It is disappointing for us as competitors to get our dogs in peak condition only to have it not be offered or as Candis said have them set up for failure due to issues with the pole. I am hoping that this issue will get resolved so we can enjoy events and have fun with our dogs which is what SD is all about.

Jeff, as for myself, SV is the big reason I plan to attend an event, particularly hours away from my home town. If it is not on the schedule I don't look twice at it. I am one in a million and happen to love that part of the venue. I do completely understand all that is involved with the construction, maintenance and precise work involved with the pole and appreciate when it is setup.

I am new to Super Vertical and am absolutely hooked. I would love the opportunity to do more of it! The biggest problem for us has been that we compete in several sports and as a result, plan our competition calendar 6-12months in advance. Our other sports require prepaid entries well in advance which makes it very difficult and costly to change plans later even if we really want to, like making to a trip where we learn Super V will also be offered. We have actually missed more than one Splash Dogs event that we would have really liked to be at this year because we learned about it after we had already committed to another event. It is always a bummer! We really appreciate the work you guys do and would love to be able to participate in more events and definitely as much Super V as we can get in!

I suggested to Tony that we start setting one wave aside for SV. I know that it is getting more and more popular. Right now we have one SV set up. Tony is going to try to get a second one built. Vit and I are leaving for Colorado Mon. and we are leaving the SV set up with Tony for Solano and Sonoma. I'm sure that there will be SV at those events time permitting. Please have patience. Tony is trying to come up with a set up that is as accurate as possible. It all takes $$$. So please bear with us. Hugs and Kisses from the Noodle Nuts.
