Default Great Danes in regards to jumping?

I'm curious to know if anyone has seen / heard of a Great Dane jumping before? - I would like to see if mine will, yet at the same time I have yet to see one doing so. Thanks to anyone with advice in regards to this.

Splash Dogs has never had a Dane compete, but we'd love to have you out there! We've had all kinds of breeds have fun dock jumping including a papillion, jack russells, german shephards, border collies, etc. No need to have a retriever to play at this sport!

I remeber a few years ago seeing a Dane try to jump. He was a huge GD that did agility (I believe his name was Orion). I think he jumped a few times then decided that it was easier to just run down the ramp but he sure was cute. Good luck, would be great to see a GD jumping.

You would think that they could jump with those long legs but in all the competitions I have been to I have never seen one jump.
I have had a few come into the kennel for OB training and have found them to be quiet different from labradors.

Well, I've been looking for a Great Dane puppy, and during my search I remember seeing that someone had a dock diving Great Dane! I couldn't tell you where, but I just wanted to let you know that there is one out there!

Plus, when I do get my pup sometime in the future, I plan on giving dock diving a go with her!

I was just at an event in Harrisburg, PA and a Great Dane jumped! It took MANY tries, but she finally did it! It was somethin' to see and a HUGE splash! 8)

The one thing I love about this sport is that there is absolutely no breed discrimination. We have had all breeds/mixes jump off our dock. One of our favs to watch is a mixed mutt. He doesn't fly high or far but his spunk is above and beyond all others I have seen. If you think you and your dog will love ith then come on and jump! Just make sure y'all are having fun doing it!

When we went to a DD event in Wheeling WV, there was a Great Dane (Boston) named Charm that jumped. She did quite well but always took three running starts before jumping. As you know "'Third times a Charm!" I think she was averaging around 13-16'.

Charm is a great dog!! I have watched her jump 15+ at events!!
Terrri Mathias is a great handler and watching Charm on the dock has always been right up there with some of my favorite moments!

There is a Great Dane on the West Coast name Orion who was at WAGS 2005 and tried jumping. Orion is actually Charm's littermate! And if you've seen Charm--he's bigger than she is! He was very interested in going in the pool, but we had to get him out by having him go over the side he's so big! He was excited up going back up on the dock and in a hurry up the stairs when one of his paws slipped between the stairs. It spooked him and he lost interest for the rest of that day. I don't know if he's been trying or still interested in the sport or not.

Here's two pictures of Orion thinking about going off the dock and then standing by the edge of the pool.
