I've set up scaffolding at a few events and there are alot of pieces and is extremely heavy for a pick up truck to lug around and than store on someones property which would require a forklift to do so. What ideas do you have that would make it simple to build a portable dock?

Also - not having been to huntington beach myself as I live in northern california.... Most of the dog beaches I've been too have pretty gradual drop offs depending on the tide level and can have pretty big waves. Does huntington have a steep drop off? You'd need to get the dock out far enough to be in at least 4 feet of water without the waves taking it out.

Default O.C. Club

Yes, I also would be interested in an OC club with a practice dock. Keep me informed.

Thanks, Carl

Talking

I just saw my fist event at the OC pet expo. Awesome fun. Has anyone thought about the ponds at Prado dog training center, or the Santa Ana Lakes off the 91 Fwy? Just a thought to start discussing.

The ponds at Prado would probably vary depending on the time of year, rainfall, etc. I'd be very wary about them being deep enough - and clean enough! <LOL> Especially with Super/Extreme Vertical but also in Big Air, there is a bit of concern with the high flying dogs, and how they land. Consider that a dog jumping 7-feet is really at 9-feet above the surface, coming down into only 4-feet of water.

FWIW, Prado also has new ownership. I don't know about the Santa Ana Lakes. Something to think about, tho', is that ideally the dogs need to have a situation that is close to what they'd be seeing in competition and here in the west, we get to have a great dock/pool! I know other parts of the country have diving competitions at lakes, but I've never been to one, so I'm not sure what other challenges they may pose.
