Default Wags For Wishes Update

Signups for Wags are going great! It's going to a busy but fun event. A few VERY important announcements.

Wave 2 is now FULL. If you have not already pre-registered for wave 2 and you want to jump in this wave, you will need to check at the registration desk 1 hour prior to the wave to see if any room has opened up.

All other waves will be considered full when we hit 45 dogs. We are close to this number in several other waves, so please sign up soon to ensure your spot.

We are going to have to run this event efficiently to get through everyone and stay on time! We are trying to earn as much money as we can for the Make a Wish Foundation! As a result the following rules will be in effect:
1) You MUST check in at the registration desk 1 hour before EVERY wave. This is important as we will have full waves and if you are not checked in, we will assume your spot is available for other competitors.
2) You MUST be at the handlers meeting 30 minutes before the wave starts
3) If you have a conflict with another activity, you MUST alert the registration desk before the handlers meeting.
4) If you have not alerted us to a conflict and are not at the handlers meeting, you will be scratched from the wave.
5) You must be present for your jumps and ready to go as soon as the wrangler tells you it's your turn. After your dog jumps, we ask that you get your dog out of the water and back on leash asap so that the next dog may go.
6) You must HAVE FUN!!!! (and raise lots of money for the kids!)

You should have received an email when you registered. If you print this and bring it with you to the event it will serve as your proof of registration (if there was some technical difficulty and I don't have it on file). Otherwise we will have all pre-registration info available onsite and you will pay when you check in.

If you are dying to know if I have your info right, I have posted what I have as of this morning at:
http://tellatail.com/PreReg.htm

I will add the super vertical list sometime tomorrow - right now I just have waves 1-10 posted.

Please email me directly (do not post to the messageboard to avoid clutter) at: wendy@tellatail.com if you have corrections.

Wave 3 is now also full! (This is great that we're going to raise so much money for the kids!)

I have an email in to update the website to not allow any more signups for wave 2 and 3, but in the meantime any new signups that come in will not be accepted for those waves (I'll email you and let you know!)

If you want to get into these waves (or any other wave that fills up), you will need to check in at the registration desk at the event to get put on the waitlist (due to the insane logistics, I unfortunately can't start the waitlist before the event). One hour prior to the wave we will be able to let you know if any spots have opened up for any waves that are full.

Don't forget if you are signed up for a wave you will have to check in by one hour prior to the wave (each and every wave) to ensure that we don't pass your spot along to someone on the waitlist!

I thank all of you in advance for your patience and cooperation to help make this run smoothly. We will be doing our best to help deal with conflicts with other events and to make sure that we get all these jumps in during such a short time span. All of the people working this event are volunteers! Be nice to us -we'll be doing our best

Be aware that there will probably not be much (if any) practice time available on the competition dock. The practice dock will be open all weekend (except during the super v competition on saturday).

Wow, Wags For Wishes is going to be a huge and fun event!

Just short of one week before the event we have 131 different dogs pre-registered to compete with Splash Dogs!

We have 389 entries in the 10 waves! Two of our waves are already full and several others just have a few spots left!

I look forward to seeing all of the Splash Dogs "family" and adding many new members to our family!

Renegade is excited that he gets to do agility and dock jumping all at one place. Jasper is very sad that he's getting left at home

Default Lap Dogs Rule!

We now have ~15 lap dogs pre-registered for WAGS!

We are going to run an Exhibition Lap Dog Finals on Sunday immediately following the Open Finals (~2:30'ish). We will take the top 6 lap dogs from the eve t into the lap dog finals. (This is an exhibition as there will not be ribbons for the winners). We feel it's important to showcase that small dogs can participate too! Lap Dogs may also qualify for the regular open and pro finals and that will not affect their qualifying for the lap dog finals.
