Can anyone confirm if this will be a splashdog event and where it will take place. I know it is in Reno but will the dock be a the sportsman's warehouse?
What days will there be Super Fly and Super V? JJ |

if you check out the SRS board you will see rooms in Reno are sparse...I booked my room a month ago and was lucky to find a room for $145 a night at a Super 8. The hotels double their rates due to Hot August Nights.

I did check out the SRS site maybe because I'm not familiar with it I couldn't find out where the venue is or what site they are using? It says sportsman's is a new sponsor so I guess that is where the site will be but would like to post information for our club and want to make sure I have the correct location.

JJ It is all under hat at the moment.
Will be announced soon on site. Tonys equipment is being used. I would not be surprised to see it at Rancho San Rafael. Only a guess. They can do the retriving there also and will not need a pool or a dock. |

Hey Guys.
Sorry. I guess I should post over here more ofter since information does not seem very prominent here. Took a siesta after the Crown and back at it now. Should be getting more information regarding the Reno event up shortly. It will be in the Sportsman's Warehouse parking lot. rules and reg are on the SRS site. Hope to see all our west coasters out for the fun. It is a televised event. Alot will be happening in the parking lot that weekend since it is the High Desert WaterFowl classic. Other events will be taking place there as well. Retreiver Trial Venue is off site about 30 minutes. Hotels are scarce but if you go to the message board or Venue section on SRS I have listed phone numbers from help if you have no luck with rooms. Hotels are also listed there. Hope to have a big group to ensure our return to the west!!! Shannon SRS |

I signed up in the amature because my dog is far from pro. he will hit one or two good jumps a year, and hasn't jumped in a year. It was explained to me that it doesnt matter, if I want to participate in this event I have to pay 125.00 and compete with the pros. If I am going to pay 125.00 to jump my boy, you better damn well believe it is because he at least has a chance. Forget it. There is no place in this event for the middle pack. you either are an "amature" a pro, or not involved. It is too bad that us that are "not involved" are being excluded. I understand that here is a serious side to the sport, but the idea of the amauture division is for those who most likely will not win the event or the money. Even if he did get in to jump, and won all the money I would sign something that says we were inelligable for it. Let the dogs jump.

Valid points from my perception. When we went to SRS last year in Gervais, OR., we had a sandbagger enter the amateurs. It was really sad because there was this newbie chocolate lab that came in 2nd, but should have won. The winner of amateurs at SRS get a free berth in the Pro finals. Unfortunately the sandbagger got in to the Pro finals.
I will not be going to this event because if we place high enough, and receive an invite to Hot Springs. It would knock someone out of an invite that has the desire to travel to Arkansas in June when it's 110 degrees & 100% humidity. That's just not my cup of tea. ![]()
