Default Pittsburg Event Information - PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE ATTENDING!

We have very important information regarding the Splash Dogs event this weekend at the Pittsburg Seafood Festival. Due to the Festival being such a large festival there are many details you will need regarding entry and rules the Festival organizers have required. Please read the full email and feel free to respond with questions! We apologize for any inconvenience these rules and the setup cause, but it's great that we get an opportunity to hold an event at such a large festival! Help us make a good impression with the dogs!

Also, this email contains VERY important information - if you have friends attending the event who don't check email very often, please call them up and pass the info along!
Event Parking
Splash Dogs parking will be on Railroad Ave between 3rd and 5th St. As you approach the area, you will encounter road blocks and policemen. You should be allowed entry by informing the policemen that you are with Splash Dogs AND by having a dog in the car. They will allow you through the blockade to the parking on Railroad. This area is blocked off to all regular parking and we are getting special permission to park closer than any other event participants. However, be aware that you will still have a .4 mile walk to the dock area. Please bring carts to help haul your equipment. This parking will be available beginning at 7am on Saturday morning. If you park there prior to 7am, your car will be towed. The Splash Dogs booth with the entry passes will be open at 8am.

Getting From Parking to the Event Gate
Once you have parked on Railroad, you will need to visit the Splash Dogs booth set up in front of the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce building at 485 Railroad Ave. At this booth you will be required to sign a waiver for the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce and will then be provided with a parking pass that you should put in your windshield and up to two passes to enter the event. Next, you need to walk down Railroad to 3rd, turn left on 3rd, turn right on Marina and walk down the street (outside of the Seafood Festival gate). When you arrive at the "Yellow Gate" you will keep walking just a bit further to the "Green Gate" This is the gate we will enter through. Please bring carts to help haul your equipment as this walk is around .4 mile.

Entry into the Event
You should be greeted by volunteers at the gate to direct you to the Splash Dogs area. We will be walking up the sidewalk around the outside of the event. If you arrive at the event prior to 10am, you will walk to the Splash Dogs area with your dog and stuff. If you arrive at the event at 10am or later, you will be required to kennel your dog for transport through the event to the Splash Dogs area. We will have Home Depot carts available for moving the kennel (with the dog in it) to the Splash Dogs area. We will also have crates available for those who don't have crates. We apologize for this inconvenience, but the event organizers are requiring this to avoid liability of our dogs interacting with festival attendees. When you leave the event, the same policy applies.

Once at the Splash Dogs Area
Now the fun begins. We will direct you to our crating area. You can remove your dog and kennel from the cart! You can register and participate in practice and competition waves! Be aware this event is very full due to our limited time constraints. We are nearly full on all the waves. Pre-registered competitors have their spots in the wave. However, we do need you to check in 1 hour prior to the start of each wave. This will allow us to fill empty spots in waves with people from our waiting list. Please check in before each wave, not just when you arrive in the morning. Also, dogs are NOT allowed to leave the Splash Dogs area or interact with festival attendees.

Miscellanous Details
If you have physical concerns with walking from the parking lot to the gate entrance, please email info@splashdogs.com and we will make arrangements to help you.

Also if you will be in the area on Friday, you are allowed to drive in and unload your crates, canopies and other stuff on Friday between 2pm-5pm. If you arrive after 5pm, you might be allowed entry for setup, however you will not be able to pull right up to the dock area due to a large dinner being help there and you will need to be careful not to disturb the dinner. There is security at the event, so you can leave your stuff there overnight.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email info@splashdogs.com prior to Saturday morning. If you have questions as you arrive at the event, please call Wendy or Tony. Wendy's cell number is: 510-299-1665, Tony's number is: 925-783-6149.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation and help in making this a successful event. We understand that the entry situation is less than optimal and appreciate your understanding. This event is a great way for us to get a lot of good exposure for dock jumping and have fun jumping our dogs at the same time!

Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend!

Default Boat Ramp

Wendy with the festivities of the Seafood Festival and the limited access we will have to the jump area, does this mean they are also shutting down the boat launch for the weekend?

Thanks

Although there are going to be powerboat races at the festival so maybe they're using the boat launch
