My tribute to my Florida buds

I know the Florida crew is gone from the club section, I don't fully agree with that but the decision was made. I would like to take the time and mention some of the members down there and how they have affected me or special memories we have had at dockdogs events.

First Is Deanie and Hershey, He is my favorite Chocolate(next is Mishka and Nestle) I remember you and I always down at the end of the dock where 11th and 12th place hang out at, LOL we always looked left and saw those little envelopes, Wonder what those are. Hershey and Pepper got their Top Gun Status together in La.

Dick,Ursala,and MY favorite Dock dog of all time Miss Jackie, By far the prettiest jumper ever.

Terri- You are one of the most knowledgible people in this sport, and put on one hell of a show.

Team Casco- One of the funnest teams to be around and 2 of the nicest people I have ever met, Pepper still has the hots for Casco.

Team Lightning- Love watching the whole clan jump it is always a family affair with you guys and that is what this is all about.

Al I have never seen you not smiling when your with hanna, that is one fast dog dog.

Shaun you are awesome cook, and a pleasure to be around.

Jt you are never allowed to give me Jack Daniels again,

There are so many good people down there, I know I have missesd a few, it was not intentional, Im Old and Cranky. I already miss all of the posts that you guys/gals did I use to love jumping in them just to stir up a little rivalry. I may not be able to bug you all on Dockdogs but I damn well will bug you in person or on other chats. I will be at any event you have or any event you go to. You all are like family to me and my house is your house as long as the jack daniels stays put up. I hope that any one else who reads this will take a moment and realize that we are all here for fun. I am ready for your next road trip so come on up. I just wanted to say thank you for all of the memories and we will have plenty more( as long as Jack Daniels doesnt interfere with my receptors again)

Thank you for the awesome post. I remember when we met in Orlando, the first time we both ever jumped our dogs. Who knew I was going to meet such a GREAT friend that weekend. So glad we met!! Yes La. was so much FUN!! Pepper & Hershey going Head to Head in EV Cadets and making it to Top Gun. That Top Gun final, will probably be the only time Hershey will ever beat Pepper at EV. We are looking forward to the 2008 season, and we will have lots more good times together.

The Florida Club is GREAT!! I' am so glad that Hershey & I can be a part of it. Thanks Terri for inviting us to join your club, We have met so many wonderful friends.

We just need to meet at the other end of the dock, Ill even take 2nd you can have first. Poor Pepper needs to learn how to run, thank god speed isn't really needed for high jumping. I still say Hershey has 7 in him, sure would like to have that boy for a couple of weeks.

I don't know many of the Florida group at all...sure would love to enjoy those dogs and warmer weather now!! ;-) But I do know DocTee and I know what kind of passion and dedication and true sportspersonship she has for the sport!!! I don't remember where I met Terri--but I know it was a quite a few years ago--back in late 2003 possibly or early 2004. I have watched her compete at DockDogs events, SRS events, the IDC event, etc. Terri is always supportive of her fellow competitors and is always willing to share her knowledge about dogs.

Terri supports the sport and the people in it without worrying about politics and which side her bread is buttered on. She just does what is right. For that Terri--you have my utmost respect!! We've always enjoyed your comraderie and your friendship! You've given us some great memories--not much beats lining up some great dogs like Clem, Dax, Raider, Sarge, etc. for water retrieves! Plus sitting around sharing stories with you, Brent, Cathy, Mike, Jackson, etc. Not to mention Sarge and Dax going head to head over that Frisbee at the IDC.

If there's people with passion to do these things with their dogs--there will be strong groups. Period. I think Milt would agree that you don't NEED an organization--you NEED each other. :-)

Thanks Amanda. We will have some more Splashdog events and maybe some other special events and I will probably see you at an SRS in the future.
