Default No Need To Be Nervous

Don't be nervous. You will have a great time and no one will judge you if your dog refuses to jump or acts up, because it has happened to all of us at one time or another. Just go there and tell them you have never jumped before and need some advice.

But DO NOT be nervous, because if you are nervous, your dog will SENSE that you are nervous and then he will not trust you and he will be afraid to jump. It all has to do with your dog trusting you and feeling comfortable on the dock. Basically you are asking your dog to run full speed and fly off into the sky and into the unknown below. That takes a lot of trust in YOU that you would never let him do anything that would hurt him. If he senses that you are nervous, then he will be nervous also.

You will do great. Just relax, play and have fun. You will meet some very nice people and have a great bonding experience with your dog.

Probably not, because we live in Southern California and I think that the Chula Vista Pool Dog Days Swim Party in San Diego is that weekend. But, I will let you know if things change. You will have a blast. It is so much fun. Enjoy!

Stop by and say hi at the registration desk.

Hi there,
Not sure if other members of H3D are planning on making the trip down but I have it tentatively on my schedule. Number of club members who make the trip, will probably depend on the weather over the mountain for the drive down. Please come over and say hi and I will be happy to help out anyway I can. The nice thing about the winter events is there don't tend to be a ton of people so you usually can get in a fair amount of practice. Please note though, jumping at the Marina is very different from the setup of the dock and pool so please be prepared to be patient with your dog. If you let the wranglers at pool side know this is your first event they will help you or simple ask any of the competitors that have dogs that jump and most people will help you out anyway they can.

If we have 3 or more dogs who want to do sv we could add it to the schedule. As of right now, we don't have anyone that I'm aware of coming who does sv.

Please post or email info@splashdogs.com if you are interested in competing in sv at sacramento.
