Default Anybody going to San Mateo or Sacramento?

Just wondering if any other club members are going to make the trip.
Jenny and I are headed to San Mateo. Then I hit Sacramento solo so hopefully so other club members head down the mountain as well.
Happy New Year to all.

Hello Other Bowen from (I guess the first Bowen???)
Glad you guys will be making the trip. Hoping some others will see how nice the weather is going to be and make the trip down as well. We couldn't have asked for nicer weather in San Mateo and the dogs hardly seem to notice if the water was cold because the sun was shinning.
Look forward to seeing everyone in Sacramento.

Wink

Hello "First Bowen" -

Yea, can't wait to get to some warmer weather, I hate the snow right now. It will be great to see everyone. Hope Cooper hasn't forgotten how to jump. It seems like a very long time since August. Well see ya there..

Default Questions on Sacramento

This would only be our second competition, our first being the NV State Fair, and we were thinking of going possibly just Sunday, but I had a few questions I was hoping someone could answer.

1. Is it OK to jump them in 50 degree weather? Katie (my golden retriever) just turned a year and never really grew a winter coat so we have been pretty careful about not letting her get to cold (sometimes she starts shivering if she is out to long) any suggestions on this? I know she would love to go but to me the most important thing is her and if I am endangering her by letting her get wet and cold... well I don't even want to think about how awful I would feel if she got sick, or am I just being a worry wort and she is a strong dog and will be just fine?

2. Are they doing vertical jump at this competition? I didn't see it on the list with any of the waves. We really want to try it as Katie's favorite trick is to run at our glass sliding door (you should see the mud on that thing) she has gotten so good at it her nose goes above the top door jam. I think that is high but really don't know so would like to try it. (and vertical jump has got to be safer/better for her then face planting into our door, and yes we have try to deter her from it but she only does it when we aren't by the door)

3. Anyone know about driving over the mountain problems (live in Reno)? I heard there is a big storm coming this weekend, we have an SUV but no snow tires or chains so want to make sure we are prepared for the worst. But would rather no have that expense if possible.

Any help/suggestions to the above questions would be great, obviously the sooner the better so we can make plans to go if we can.

Hi Natalie,
Sorry I didn't see this before the event but glad you guys made the trip down.
I know you were a bit dissappointed with the way Katie jumped but she's young and just needs to get a bit more practice under her belt.
JJ
