Default Practice dock in Sacramento area??

Does anyone know of a place to practice in the Sacramento area? We went out searching in the Folsum area and found an old dock at Negro Bar but it was full of kayakers.

Also, I am looking for advice on how to practice on dry land to help Maxx get the hang of jumping for the bumper. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Val and Maxx

Hi Val:
Jim takes MickeyD to Railheads pond. This is the location we had the last event at. Jim would be more than willing to assist you with your dog. Just let us know.

Thanks, that would be great! I would love some guidence and will welcome any volunteers. I work in Auburn and take Maxx to work with me most days - so really any day that would work for him (weekends also)- I could meet him there. We are planning to go to San Jose event. Thanks, Val

My friend and I went to Granite Bay and they do have a great dock to practice diving. Problem is going when it isn't busy with boats and the water gets pretty rough. We also went to Rattlesnake Bar and while the dock was much closer to the water and VERY unsteady there was much less traffic and smoother water.....I would love to meet up with someone to learn how to do this also. We were at the last competition and totally "winged it" not knowing anything what we were doing but enjoyed it alot!

Cathy:
Glad to see you got on the board! As we have offered to Val perhaps we can meet up at Railhead Park (this is where the last event was) My husband, Jim can give you both some training lessons. Also at the September event one of the dogs that came in third at Great Outdoor Games last year will be there with his owner Rob. Rob is great at training and loves to help new people. Are either one of you going to Mel Cottons this weekend? Jim and I will be there. See you on the dock!

I have a family wedding to go to this coming weekend, but we want to go to the Reno event. I would love to get together with Jim and/or Rob and Val  I live in Loomis so the Railhead Park is great for me! Just let me know what works for everyone.....I work out of my home so my time is pretty flexible.
Thanks!
